Eric Lewis
Eric Lewis has been working in hi-tech finance in various capacities since 1997. He is currently Executive
Director of Walker Ventures. In this capacity, he manages Walker Ventures' new West Virginia operation and assists in portfolio company management for the entire Walker Ventures portfolio. Before joining Walker
Ventures, Eric was Co-founder and CFO of Butterfly.net Inc., where he was responsible for finance, accounting, legal and human resources functions.
Eric worked with the CEO on all aspects of launching the company and on obtaining two rounds of venture capital.
Prior to Butterfly.net, Eric was Chief Financial Officer at Ultraprise Corporation, where in
addition to growing the company from 10 to well over 100 employees and directing all aspects of finance, accounting and purchasing, he managed equity fundraising efforts responsible for bringing in over $30 million
from investors such as Walker Investment Fund I & II, FBR Technology Venture Partners, FBR Financial Fund, GE Equity, First Union Capital Partners and Citigroup's eCiti division. Before entering the world of
hi-tech finance, Eric worked in auditing, tax and business consulting with regional CPA firms Arnett & Foster and Yount, Hyde & Barbour.
Eric also serves as Chairman of a committee created by Sen.
John D. Rockefeller IV (D-WV) tasked with researching the future of venture capital in West Virginia. This committee recently announced plans to launch the West Virginia Venture Connection, a venture capital
source and advocacy group focused on increasing access to venture capital in West Virginia. Eric graduated cum laude from Shepherd College with a B.S. in accounting and is a certified public accountant. He is
married with two young children and resides in Shepherdstown, WV.
